Global
Youth gangs are obviously not a new problem is a remaining phenomenon, but is still a problem to be addressed across the globe. This issue is globally, I believe that parents need to be educated on how to spot the signs of gang association in their child or someone that they know. I believe that families need to help deal with their children who are at risk of joining a gang. By this it gives them knowledge and ability to help their children stay out of trouble. Parents often tend to react strongly to the gang problems all over the world. In schools, globally, the solutions can be interconnected because there are activists who are seeking to find solutions to the issue. I believe that the issue of youth gang violence presents itself in many different ways. Globally, there are way more dangerous gangs active out there. For example, in other parts of the world, like in El Salvador the number one most dangerous gangs is the “Mara Salvatrucha(MS-13) , without doubt MS-13 is the most ruthless and deadliest gangs in the world. They were started in the State of California. Today they have more than 70,000 members, according to the most danegerous gngs This gang is known for the drug smuggling, black market, gun sells and human trafficking. All these problems link up to other bigger issues going on today. Another example on how the issue of youth gang violence presents itself across the globe is through another gang the Latin Kings. This is a gang that was formed in Chicago in the 1940’s. Although it mentions that they are not as violent as many other gangs they engage in fair share of illegal money making. Additionally with one of the highest crime rate in Africa, Nigeria is notorious for gun related violence, including kidnapping and robbery. Based on research and other different websites, gang violence does exist. We need to start on picturing the bigger picture. As humans we can all get together and reduce the gang violence going on, especially on the places mention above. One solution that is active is In Jamaica, where officials are trying to make a dent in the gang violence by rounding up young men and detaining them. This is important to know because not only is a Unites states or a local issue, El Salvador, Brazil, Jamaica are places where they need the assistance of us. That’s where the term to think globally means, to work as a team, to be united and be there for our youth and prevent them from joining a gang, also to prevent future generations to live on a reckless place full of gang and gun violence.

Gangs are not only a problem in the United States but also in other countries like El Salvador and Asia. El Salvador which is found in North America is also a country that faces a lot of gang violence. One of the most dangerous gangs that exist in El Salvador is Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13). MS-13 has great power in El Salvador and are a very violent gang that participate in many disturbing actions such as murder, extortion, and human trafficking.[1] The gang violence in El Salvador is so high that, many people in fear for their lives try to migrate to the United States to be safe and away from the severe gangs back at El Salvador. A writer named Nina Lakhani wrote an article for the website “The guardian” in which she talks about a 16 year old boy who tried to migrate to America to go live with his mother who he barely knew due to the fact that he feared for his life because while trying to go to school he was threatened to get killed by MS-13 gang members.[1]
Safety for the people living in El Salvador is not easy to find, because they are
constantly being tormented by the gang violence around them. Many Asian gangs cause gang violence due to
the economic problems that they are facing which is a factor that leads young
Asians to join a gang in the first place.[2]
The economic impact of gang violence is the amount of millions of dollars that
this problem has cost in a global level. Every time gang violence occurs,
people end up injured and there is destruction or vandalism. Businesses are
affected by this because if gang violence is taking place around their area it
can lead to destruction of the place. Business owners have to pay a lot of
money to repair all the damage gang violence has caused them. The political
impact is that the government has public organizations in which they are there
to help out people in gangs. It is very important for people to know that gang
violence is a global issue because homicide rates keep increasing day by day,
and also because it’s important that everyone especially victims of gang
violence now that they are not alone and that they aren’t the only ones going
through that problem. [3] It’s also important because that way they
know that they can come together and look for support whenever they need it.
